Do you have any questions you’d like to ask a psychologist, or would you like to schedule a free consultation?
Support for life's challenges, near and far.
What is an online psychologist / psychotherapist?
An online psychologist is simply a licensed clinical psychologist who offers counseling support over the internet. This means you can receive professional help regardless of where you are—as long as you have internet access.
Online psychological help is a good option if you have difficulty getting to a physical location. Perhaps you’re in an uncertain life situation that forces you to move from place to place. In that case, the remote format gives you the security of continuing to receive support without interruption.
Online psychology can also be a more discreet way to seek help, especially if you’re concerned about privacy or want to avoid being recognized.
For Whom is the service suitable for?
Remote consultations are appropriate for most situations. I especially recommend them for people experiencing:
Anxiety issues
Phobias
Depression or burnout syndrome
Adjustment difficulties
ADHD
Autism (ASD)
Internet or gaming addiction
Unhealthy stress
Remote sessions can also be helpful for many other types of mental difficulties.
However, remote psychological contact isn’t always the best choice in every circumstance. In more extensive or severe cases—such as moderate to severe depression, bipolar disorder, reality‑distorting thoughts, or other complex conditions—a multidisciplinary team is often needed. In those instances, it’s recommended to first turn to public health care.
Remote consultation can, however, serve as a complement to other treatment. Feel free to discuss it with your treating physician.
If you’re uncertain, you’re welcome to get in touch—the first remote session is free of charge. I can also help you contact your nearest health station (within Finland) if your situation requires more comprehensive care.
Please note that this service is not intended for acute crises.
For urgent situations, contact your nearest health centre or call the Finnish nationwide crisis line at 01019 5202. In life‑threatening emergencies, dial 112 (Within Europe).
How does a remote consultation work?
Remote consultations mainly takes place via video calls or phone calls.
Email, SMS, or other messaging applications are primarily used for appointment scheduling and other simple matters.
What if I’m not comfortable with computers?
No worries—you don’t need to be technically skilled to participate in a remote consultation.
All that’s required is a working computer, tablet, or smartphone with an internet connection, webcam, and microphone. Most modern laptops and tablets come equipped with these by default.
